Team of the Month: March 2018

Hello Dice Masters!  This is the start of what I hope will turn into a regular event here on Dice Masters North.  We are turning to you, our Readers, to give us your best or most creative builds using a given theme or card.  Impress us with your builds and you could find fame, fortune, and fantastic prizes.  Well… maybe not all of those.  Read on for the details.

What We Want?

We are going to give you a specific theme or card that must be the centerpiece of your build.  You can build anything you want, as long as it follows the given rules for that month.  The only real stipulation is that you must be able to justify how the build fits the parameters given.  Build your Team, and give us some basic instructions as to how it is supposed to work.  Give us as much, or as little information as you feel is necessary.  Your best tool is to include a link to the Dice Coalition Team Builder in your submission.  Please also include dice counts.

Ccm0007 and I are going to sift through the submissions and pick two Teams that catch our eyes.  For myself, I will tell you that I like the crazy interactions.  The more complex the machine, the more I like it.  You won’t impress me by throwing around Cubes and Shrieks, unless it is in a unique manner.  Ccm0007 is looking for new ways to use unusual cards. Figured out a way to use Kir Sabal or SR Beholder? You’ve got his attention.

Once we have have our Teams selected, we will put them to the test.  Read on for how that will work.

What You Get?

James and Zack (from Dice Masters with James and Zack) will take our chosen builds and play them online.  Will they perform as expected?  Will there be surprises?  Tune in to their video play-through to see what happens.  Internet fame is better than nothing… right?

The winner of our little duel will be given a prize pack that will be a random mix of promos, foils, and/or rares.  Some good, some bad, some somewhere in between.  Free cards are free cards.  I feel we do need to reward you for your hard work.

As for the fortune… hmm… I guess that 2 out of 3 ain’t bad.

Points for this competition will be awarded as follows:

• The Team that I select will receive 1 point.
• The Team that ccm00007 selects will receive 1 point.
• James and Zack will each vote on their favourite of these Teams and that Team will receive 1 point for each vote.
• The winning Team from the duel will receive 1 point.
• The most points wins the competition.

The Fine Print:  This will be open worldwide.  The submission deadline for this round will be 10:00 PM Mountain Time on March 23, 2018.  Submissions should be sent to mailbag@dm-north.com with “Team Build Challenge” in the subject line no later than the deadline date.  In the event that multiple Team builds are identical, the first one received will be considered as an eligible entry.  Rewards will be sent via regular letter mail to the recipient.  If you require tracking information, you will be responsible for any additional costs.  Members of Dice Masters North and Dice Masters with James and Zack are ineligible to submit Teams.

With all of that out of the way, here is the challenge for March 2018:

I wanted to start off with a bang and go for the Common Kate Bishop from The Mighty Thor, but I was told that might be TOO challenging right off the bat.  We will save her for a later date.  With March being the start of spring, and spring being the season of rebirth, I thought why not reach back to the original Rebirth?

That is right boys and girls, we are going to focus on the man in green.  Let’s see what you can do with our good friend, the one and only Green Lantern¹, Hal Jordan.  Any cards with either Hal Jordan or Green Lantern in the title (White Lanterns count as well) will be acceptable here.

This can be a Golden or Modern build, so the old Justice League cards can be used.  The only stipulation is that Hal must be an integral part of the build.

Sticking with the theme, this month’s prize pack will feature the colour green.

Will your Team show us the Brightest Day, or will it bring about the Blackest Night?  We cannot wait to see what you can come up with.
